The Americans are Coming! The Americans are Coming!

Angela Wilhelm’s (Willspire Real Estate Services Inc.) presentation, “Impact of US Retailers on Canadian Markets” was the focus of Crew Calgary’s Lunch and Learn held Tuesday, March 20th, 2012. This informative report shared her observations on current retailer trends and the changing landscape of retail real estate, confirming that the Americans, indeed, are coming! Angela discussed the impact of the American retailers on the Canadian Markets, reviewed their past successes and failures north of the 49th parallel, and even noted some of the Canadian retailers venturing south. Angela’s observations of the activity to date and her forecast of those retailers yet to come, left the room (both as landlords and consumers alike) filled with anticipation.

Fort Calgary, this year’s chosen venue for the Lunch and Learn series, continues to provide a great networking and meeting space, ample free parking, and a seasonal menu. A baked Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni entrée was preceded with a starter salad of spring greens. A plate of small bite desserts was placed at every table, as coffee was served to finish the meal. It should be noted that Fort Calgary will endeavor to accommodate dietary restrictions if they are provided with advance notice.
