Brookfield Update

Tuesday, Oct 20, 2015

Earlier this year, Brookfield Residential was thrilled to welcome CREW on a tour through Seton and its neighbouring new developing community, South Seton. This tour gave us a chance to introduce Brookfield Residential to CREW members through one of our most exciting new areas.  For those of you who don’t know, Brookfield Residential is one of the largest land developers and home builders in North America. We have developed 61 communities in Calgary since 1958, with one in five Calgarians living in a Brookfield community.

As city builders and community partners, our connection with Calgary is deep. We are engaged with the communities we build in, but also the cities where we operate. Through our volunteerism, charitable work and sustainability efforts, we invest in where we live.

In the past year, we have worked with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, the RESOLVE Campaign to End Homelessness, the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre, the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, and the Calgary Folk Festival. Our commitment to helping our vulnerable community members is paramount in what we do and we want to make Calgary the best city it can possibly be.

A place where people come to live and put down roots.  A place where all Calgarians are safe, have a roof over their head and a community to call their own. A vibrant city where people can live, work and play in close proximity.

That's why Brookfield Residential creates the neighbourhoods we do.  In the Seton district, more than 12,000 jobs will be created and over 2,000 residential units will be built in the next ten years and those residents will be able to walk to work, or ride their bike to the grocery store.  We create urban vibrancy throughout the city, both in the inner-city and the suburbs, and we will continue to do so.

Our recent announcement of our purchase of ALBI Homes, a leading luxury homebuilder in Calgary, reinforces our ability to provide our customers with choice in their home, from a first-time homebuyer through to an estate home. ALBI Homes shares the commitment to their community, their people and their craft that we have. We can’t wait for what our joint future holds.

We can’t wait to share our new projects and communities with you: Altadore 36 in October 2015, The Henry in Parkdale in November 2015, Fireside in Cochrane, The Link at Evanston, as well as Livingston next year. It’s an exciting time at Brookfield Residential and we look forward to continuing to support CREW Calgary.
