CREW’s East Village Tour – Wheel of Women

CREW Calgary recently hosted an exciting tour of one of Calgary’s hottest new and ongoing developments: the East Village. Led by Kate Thompson of Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) and Greg Bodnarchuk of exp Services Inc., the walking tour of East Village afforded CREW Calgary members and guests the opportunity to interact with all East Village has to offer, up close and personal!

On a sunny afternoon, tour participants were guided through several indoor and outdoor locations in East Village and provided with exclusive access to a few hot spots, including the East Village Experience Centre and the St. Louis Hotel. CREW Calgary members and guests gained valuable insights about the community master plan, development hurdles and successes, CMLC’s approach to historic asset preservation, and progress on a few of East Village’s gems, including the National Music Centre, the New Central Library, and N3 - Calgary’s first and only “no parking” condominium. The tour also visited the East Village Community Gardens and the Wheel of Women Plaza on the Riverwalk.  

After the tour, CREW Calgary members and guests compared suntans and freckles while enjoying wine, appetizers and networking at the East Village Experience Centre. Thank you to Kate and Greg for the wonderful tour – well done!
