I appreciate the opportunity to be considered for the position of Secretary for CREW Calgary in 2017. My goal will be to accurately document our activities, discussions and decisions thus providing continuity for our corporate historic records. I am detail oriented and organized and would like to improve some of our procedures and processes. At the same time I would like to promote CREW Calgary as an organization of positivity and forward momentum by creating opportunities to celebrate achievements of our members’ successes.
Having been originally introduced to CREW Calgary by Sarah Martin, I have been a member since 2006. During this time I have been on the marketing committee for 2 years, 1 year as chair and on the sponsorship committee for 1 year. I joined the board in 2016 as a Director and sponsorship committee liaison. Being actively involved with CREW Calgary has deepened my understanding of the commercial real estate business and all its aspects and players which helped me advance our own business, Iwanski Architecture.
My career in commercial real estate began in Germany where I received my degree in interior architecture from the University of Applied Science in Detmold, Germany. After gaining valuable experience in internationally known architectural offices in London, England and Toronto, Canada I became a registered architect in Hamburg, Germany and currently hold a membership with the Architectural Association of Hamburg.
At Iwanski Architecture our European design sensibility permeates all our work - creative, responsive, efficient. Our team is creative, experienced and energetic. We approach each opportunity with respect and commitment. Our firm focus is on educational, cultural, residential and commercial projects of all sizes - new construction and renovations.
I enjoy “getting things done” and “getting them done well” which is why I am also a member of the PMI (Project Management Institute) and a registered PMP (Project Management Professional).
For the last 4 years I have also been on the board for Doors Open YYC. I am passionate about promoting architecture and design in the city while encouraging civic engagement.
