Website/CREWbiz

There is a new digital platform with three parts: our website – open to public; the CREWbiz online community, which is for members only; and the mobile app, also for members only. Please take the time to explore this platform so you can use it to its fullest potential. Complete and/or update your profiles, and don't forget to include a photo! Please note that even those who had a complete CREWbiz profile on the old platform need to go in and verify that their information has migrated over from the old system. There are some sections that did not previously exist. Additionally, please download the app when it is available in a couple of weeks. You will need to delete the old one from your mobile device. With the new CREW community (CREWbiz) digital platform it will be easy to initiate and participate in discussions that will help chapters and members grow and learn. The new website also includes a blog, authored by CREW’s new CEO Wendy Mann that offers up a great change to get to know Wendy and see what’s happening at Network.

 2018 Leadership Certificate Program

CREW Network is relaunching the CREW Leadership Certificate with new features that will help you develop your skills.  Registration will be open at the end of September. CREW Calgary has three graduates of last year’s program: Tara Steell, Alanna Remington Rice and Elvie Reinson. They are happy to answer any questions you might have about the program.

 CREW Network Foundation

CREW Network Foundation does some incredible work to support the advancement of women in CREW. The scholarships are the Foundation’s best known contribution, and 15 new scholars announced officially shortly. Over and above the scholarships, the CN Network Foundation also supports our industry research and outreach programs. This year’s industry research is a follow-up to the 2016 white paper, Closing the Gap, and will focus on company best practices and case studies for closing the gender gap. The 2017 white paper will be launched at the CREW Network Convention.

2017 CREW Network Convention and Marketplace in Houston

The CREW Network Convention and Marketplace in Houston from October 25 - 27, 2017 is sure to provide another exciting opportunity open to all members. As always, there will be valuable networking, tours, leadership development and inspirational speakers such as Geena Davis and Travis Bradberry. The sessions this year will be more interactive and watch for the new “Conversation Corners.”  Registration is open now, so don’t delay!  Take advantage of CREW Calgary’s Convention Scholarship Opportunity or CREW Network’s  “convince your boss” letter (located on the new CREW Network website) to help fund your attendance.

Dues Increase Proposed for 2019

CREW Network is proposing a dues increase motion that would take effect in 2019.  Please refer to  2019-crew-network-dues-increase-faq.pdf  for information on the proposed increase.

Chapter Best Practices Sessions

A panel discussion touched on some fantastic ideas developed by other CREW Chapters including increasing member value, developing a mentorship program, and educating young girls on career opportunities in CREW.

Canadian Chapter Meeting

Chapter Delegates from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Montreal and Toronto met at Kingsett Capital’s office located in the Toronto Dominion Centre, one of Toronto’s most iconic office towers designed by Ludwig Mies van De Rohe.  Canadian Chapter delegates met to share best practices and exchange ideas, challenges and lessons learned on various topics such as membership categories, member value, governance and policy development, marketing strategies and sponsorship development. Canadian Chapter delegates meet three times a year at each of the CREW Network Leadership Summits. In addition, Canadian Chapters plan and host the Canadian Members Only Networking Event in rotation, which is held at CREW Network Convention. Watch out for upcoming news about the 2017 Canadian CREW Members Only event taking place in Houston this October: a great opportunity for Canadian members to network with other Canadian real estate professionals outside of their local markets.
