Profile: Cheryle Wong, Co-Chair Events Committee

Headshot 2018 Wong CI have been a member of CREW since the end of 2016 and immediately joined the Events Committee. Assisting the committee gave me the chance to participate in supporting this great network and meet the members.

Shortly after I joined CREW I gained employment with Q4 Architects and at present my work is a combination of single family housing and a renovation to the Royal Alberta Museum. The three years prior I was with Group2 Architecture and was job captain/assistant architect for an outdoor pool renovation, a new build medical professional centre, and a renovation to the Burn Unit at Foothills Hospital to name a few. The eight years before I was located in London, England and worked at Paul Murphy Architects as an assistant architect. It was a pivotal time for me where I learned a great deal about design, construction and the process. I learned how to execute jobs from start to finish. Most of the projects were health care and education, including public and forensic mortuaries, and a diabetes education centre. My Masters of Architecture (Dalhousie University) and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology (University of British Columbia) inform my design work in response to client briefs. It pleases me that my efforts enrich communities and that a few of my projects are recipients of awards.

I am thrilled to co-chair the Events Committee in 2018 and I look forward promoting CREW.
