2021 Q2 President's Message

Where has the time gone! It seems like Q2 has come and gone in a flash, but as I’ve reflected on the past few months, I was humbled by all that has happened.  Q2 for me personally started with a transition to a new position as Real Estate Counsel at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP and my CREW certainly had my back making it a smooth and exciting transition.  CREW Calgary continues to be a foundation of support for our members, and I encourage each of you who have the capacity to do so to continue reaching out to one another and lifting each other up ensuring we all rise to our potential.

CREW Calgary went through its own transition in Q2 welcoming back in-person events through members regrouping and reconnecting with river walks and our golf Mini 5.  But we understood that in-person was not for everyone and continued virtual programming as well.   As we continue to move forward and navigate the new waters we face, we will continue to offer a variety of programming to meet everyone’s needs.

The CREW Calgary Board has been busy this quarter arranging for CREW Network Convention Attendance Scholarships and gearing up for our strategic planning session in the fall where we will re-evaluate and re-envision our vision, mission and goals and set the course for CREW Calgary for the upcoming 3 years.  All members should have received an email with a Member Survey this week, and I encourage all of you to fill it out and provide your feedback on where you want CREW Calgary to set sail to in the upcoming years. Your feedback is important to us, so please let’s hear from you!

Our year together may be halfway gone, but to me it feels like we are stepping into a new beginning this summer - one filled with many celebrations to come.  I look forward to reconnecting and seeing you at our next event! Until then, I will leave you with this quote:
