The CREW Calgary Board is proud to announce the winners of the scholarship program offered for attendance at the 2023 CREW Network Convention or the 2024 CREW Network Leadership Certificate Program.
Congratulations to Ellie Abootorabi, Melissa Krauss and Deanna Romney!
Ellie Abootorabi, this year's CREW Calgary Mentee Scholarship winner, is an urban planner at Stantec Consulting with over 7 years of experience in community development and municipal legislation, currently involved in various green field projects in Alberta. She feels incredibly honored and humbled to have been awarded the prestigious 2023 CREW Network Convention scholarship. Ellie is ready to embark on this extraordinary journey of learning, growth, and connections. From dynamic educational sessions to networking with professionals, she is excited to be part of this inspiring gathering. This opportunity fuels her passion for growth, and she looks forward to sharing her experience with the CREW Calgary chapter.
Melissa Krauss, Business Development Manager at T.i. STUDIOS Architecture, a Calgary based firm specializing in commercial Architecture with a strong focus on the industrial sector. Melissa embarked on her career in June 2009 when she joined T.i. STUDIOS, and since then, she has made significant contributions to the company's success. Throughout her 14-year tenure, Melissa has played a pivotal role in fostering new partnerships, driving growth, and expanding the firm’s client base and visibility, both at the local and national levels. Melissa will be representing CREW Calgary at the 2023 CREW Network Convention this fall. With her natural ability for networking and her passion for professional development, she is eagerly looking forward to creating new connections and leveraging the ample opportunities the convention offers to enhance her expertise.
Deanna Romney, Leader Downtown Investments for The City of Calgary, is currently responsible for components of the office conversion incentive program, including applicant due diligence and administration of the funding agreements. She also leads the market insight and analysis work for The City of Calgary’s Downtown Strategy team. With over 14 years of experience in real estate, in both the public and private sectors, Deanna is excited to attend the 2023 CREW Network Convention to hear from experts on some of the unique solutions being explored to solve the pressing real estate issues facing other cities today as well as network with CREW members from other chapters.
