CREW Calgary wrapped up 2024 with great events for its members.
September:
AMA Series - Asset Management
As part of the Ask Me Anything Series, Crew Calgary members had the chance to learn more about what asset management is all about. Lisa Greaves, Director, Asset Management at Morguard educated members on information such as Office and Industrial Asset Management, Investment and Ownership Structures, Reporting Requirements, and Financial and Investment Analysis.
Building Tour - Bow Valley Development Tour
CREW Calgary members experienced a full day tour through Canmore and Banff, braving rain, snow, and sunshine. Jessica Karpat from QuantumPlace Developments Ltd. detailed the development process for Three Sisters Mountain Village, and we explored completed, current, and future development sites while admiring the stunning Three Sisters Mountain range.
The day continued with lunch at Rhythm & Howl, located in the newly renovated MTN House by BaseCamp. We then headed to the Town of Banff, where we heard from Councillor Barb Pelham and Manager of Strategic Initiatives & Projects, Randall MacKay. The tour concluded with a walk to the Train Station, where Jan Waterous of Liricon discussed the Banff Railway Area Redevelopment Plan.
It was a day filled with information, fun, and great company.

NAIOP Partner Events - Calgary Cool Projects & Real Estate Forum Social
The Cool Projects event featured Calgary’s key leaders, each driving innovation and transformation in the city. Attendees had the unique opportunity to learn about some of the most exciting projects shaping Calgary’s future.
At the Calgary Real Estate Forum cocktail reception, members of NAIOP and CREW Calgary enjoyed beverages and engaging conversations all while successfully fundraising over $2,300 for the Calgary Food Bank. It was a wonderful evening of networking and giving back to the community.
November:
AMA Series - Insights into Commercial Real Estate Financing
The recent AMA event provided valuable insights into the current landscape of commercial real estate lending. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about who is lending right now and what lenders expect.
Barbara Beler from First Avenue Financial answered questions and shared her extensive knowledge on commercial real estate financing. Her insights were invaluable for those preparing their next request for financing. It was an informative session that helped deepen understanding and provided practical advice for navigating the commercial real estate lending market.
CREW Calgary Annual Holiday Party
And what better way to end the year than with a bang at the CREW Calgary Annual Holiday Party! This year's event took place at the new BMO Centre in the stunning Brand Room, where members celebrated in true Gatsby style. Everyone donned their "glad rags" and "dipped the bill" to mark another fantastic year with CREW Calgary.
The evening was filled with delicious food, refreshing beverages, and captivating entertainment by Le Cirque de la Nuit and DJ Samantha. It was a night to remember, full of celebration and great company.
