Karen Price has been a member of CREW (and even served as President in the past) since its inception in 2006. With 25 years’ experience in the industry and a wealth of knowledge to share, we thought it was time to shine the member spotlight on her.

So what does Karen’s typical day look like? Let's ask!

I am a consultant who works with both landlords and tenants and brokers to negotiate leases and offers to lease. Drafting lease documentation is not a “fill in the blanks” exercise; it requires a thorough understanding of both legal concepts and business terms, thinking outside the box, connecting the dots, good analysis and problem solving skills and offering these skills to my clients.

What type of opportunities have you had because of CREW?

I have been actively involved in CREW Calgary over the past 11 years, which has helped me build my professional network and grow professionally. Taking on various leadership roles within the chapter has given me personal development opportunities, as well as the opportunity to network with successful women who are leaders within the Calgary CREW community.

Our last question. Which role would you like to play in a movie and/or which actress would you want to play you?

I'm going to answer this by thinking of a strong female character featured in film that I admire: the character of  Marge Gunderson in Fargo, played by Frances McDormand. Her character is friendly, even while she's interrogating suspects, but also very intelligent when it comes to her police work, often picking up on criminal clues before her colleagues. By virtue of her brains, determination and patience, she is able to solve a heinous crime without letting its darkness rub off on her.

A big thank you to Karen for sharing with us!
