Event Recap: BMOx Hard Hat Tour

With the support of Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC), Calgary Stampede and PCL, CREW Calgary had the exciting opportunity to tour the active construction site of the BMO Convention Centre Expansion project on September 14, 2022. Attendees were welcomed into the Stampede’s cozy and inviting Rotary House, donned PPE and were introduced to the captivating project by team members from CMLC. PCL then ran the group through a safety meeting, and attendees were taken out to site in smaller groups.

Our CREW Members in attendance were introduced to what will soon be a magnificent convention space in the heart of the Events and Stampede district in Calgary. PCL led tour groups to key points in the building where sections of structural steel towered, future events room spaces were imagined, and renderings of the future venue were shown. Key members from the project team, CMLC, PCL, Stantec, S2, RJC, M3 and others were also in attendance, answering questions, and painting a picture of all the intricate work that has gone into the design and construction of this project.

Following the tour, groups reconvened in the Rotary House for a light bite of sandwiches and coffee, provided by the Calgary Stampede, and to network and connect following to tour.
